Projects

This page features a collection of some of my projects and work, most of which were completed while working for Palm Beach County. It is by no means a complete list, but certainly the more intesting or larger ones. Unless noted, I handled the design and development in coordination with other stakeholders, departments, etc. The best example of my current work is the most recent, the Palm Beach County Neighborhood dashboard, which is the one I had the most control and freedom over.

• Palm Beach County Neighborhood Dashboard

  One of my favorite projects, and a good example of what I can do with a bit more artistic freedom. This is a one-stop dashboard for address-specific information using a lot of the ArcGIS javascript API. It shows government representatives (federal, state, and local), voting precinct locations, police and fire departments, emergency management status, evacuation zones, flood zones, school districts and representatives, current land use, permitting authorities, and water service providers, all specific to the user's address. It also provides 40+ live traffic cam feeds laid out across the county map.

• Palm Beach County League of Cities

  The Palm Beach County League of Cities is an organization that collaborates with almost 40 municipalities across the entire county.

• WCAG ADA Compliance and CSP Updates

  Not a glamorous project, but something critical in today's day and age, especially for a governmental organization. I updated all the pbc.gov and custom domains to be ADA-compliant or at least as passable as possible. Sharepoint (on the main site) can be a difficult thing to make ADA compliant, especially in an on-premises install with no customization beyond the master page.

• Palm Beach County Property Appraiser

  The refresh of the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser site at https://pbcpao.gov/. I translated the mock-up into a working site and worked with multiple other teams including the Property Appraiser's team, the GIS team, and the application development team to translate the styles and design in a cohesive, consistent manner.

• Rental Assistance PBC

  During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Palm Beach County Community Services department needed a landing page and information portal for rental, utility, and other kinds of assistance built in a weekend.

• Youth Services Mini-sites

  Various Youth Services standalone sites with custom domains were designed or re-designed over the span of a few years. I am combining them here for brevity and because they all used similar designs that were a little more vibrant and colorful, by request.

• Securing Our Future

  'Securing Our Future' is a cross-departmental initiative that seeks to create pathways for economic mobility for familes with children ages 0-18 who are living below 200% of the poverty level.

• Palm Beach County Intranet

  Redesigning the internal PBC employee site involved the design, implementing the design with CSS, and coding the Sharepoint ASP.NET 'Master' page.
